Permavent APEX complies with NHBC requirements for cold/warm roof constructions without the need for any high or low level ventilation under the NHBC warranty.

Can I use my usual brand of breathable membrane and still get the 40 year guarantee?

No, in order to qualify for the 40 year guarantee the membrane used must be Permavent DRY+. Read on for further stipulations.

Could Plain Tiles absorb water and crack in frost at lower pitches?

Plain Easy separates the tiles from one another and significantly reduces the chances of cracking due to freeze-thaw action.

No, Easy Slate can be installed using traditional slate headlaps.

A VCL is not required for non-ventilated cold roof installation.  For further design support please contact a member of the team.

Does the Plain Easy system work with Valley / Hip Tiles?

Since valley and hip tiles are manufactured to be used at standard pitches rather than low pitch the Plain Easy system would not be required.

How should I fix the membrane?

Permavent roofing underlays should be affixed using clout nails. It's important that the nails are located beneath laps, to ensure that the underlay prevents water penetration.

I am concerned that Easy Slate raises my slate. Will wind-driven rain be an issue?

No every slate is protected by the Easy Slate System, and water ingress is stopped even from wind-driven rain.
