The Plain Easy System is a patented, unique roofing solution designed to enable the installation of double lapped clay or concrete plain tiles on low‑pitch roofs while maintaining weather resistance. The system allows traditional plain tiled roofs to be constructed at rafter pitches as low as 17.5°.
Plain Easy is intended for use on projects where roof pitch or ridge height is restricted, including domestic, commercial, and heritage buildings subject to planning constraints. By enabling reduced roof pitches, the system allows double lapped plain tiles to be specified in situations where they would otherwise be unsuitable.
The system has been tested by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) to assess its performance in low‑pitch double lapped plain tiled roofing applications, confirming its suitability when installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidance.
Plain Easy is compatible with single or double cambered clay or concrete plain tiles where the tile manufacturer recommends a minimum roof pitch of 35° or less. Plain Easy may not be compatible with handmade, reclaimed, or imported tiles. Please contact the Permavent Technical team for further advice on compatibility.
