Permaflex® is a third-generation lead alternative material designed to provide weatherproof detailing in roofing applications where traditional lead would normally be specified. It is used for sealing and protecting roof junctions, including solar panel applications, abutments and flashings.
The product meets BS 5534:2014 +A2:2018, the Code of Practice for slating and tiling, and BS 8104:1992, which relates to assessing exposure of walls to wind-driven rain. Permaflex® is suitable for installation in areas classified as severe exposure, including the highest exposure zones defined within NHBC Standard 6.1.6 (2023), when installed in accordance with manufacturer guidance.
Permaflex® has been independently tested to BS EN 13501-1:2018, achieving a defined fire classification for construction products and building elements. This supports its suitability for use within regulated roof constructions where fire performance must be considered.
The material is intended to provide a consistent and durable alternative to traditional lead flashings, offering compatibility with modern roofing systems while maintaining compliance with relevant UK standards and exposure requirements.
Shortlisted for “Most Innovative Product” at the Pitched Roofing Awards 2025.
