Why Permavent was chosen

Acknowledging the size of the roof and the project program, the roofing contractor recommended a heavy-duty roofing underlay to protect the internal finishes once the existing roof had been removed, and during the new slating process. Permavent RED 160gsm is manufactured with improved tensile strength and nail-tear resistance, and provided a robust weathertight solution for a project highly exposed to weather.

The client selected the main roof covering; Natural Spanish Slate to preserve the traditional aesthetic of the building, providing no additional planning restraints. The slates were chosen also for their clean and uniform appearance, complimented further by Permavent Ltd’s Easy Valley System. This discreet dry-fix solution is a watertight and universally pitched roofing ancillary, and successfully maintains a traditional slate aesthetic for heritage-focused projects.

How Permavent Products were installed:

Permavent RED was installed as per the manufacturer’s instructions and building standards regulations, in compliance with BS5534 & BS5250.
