The Project

City Park, St Andrews is a large-scale residential refurbishment project involving a varied mix of property types, including bungalows, three-storey buildings, and a Victorian building. Delivered in three planned phases, the project required extensive roofing works as part of a wider upgrade to improve the condition and long-term protection of the development.
A key requirement was to specify a high-performance roofing underlay that could be installed efficiently across multiple buildings while providing dependable long-term weather protection. The chosen solution also needed to support a smooth installation process and consistent performance across differing roof structures.

Permavent in Action

Permavent APEX, our air open and vapour permeable underlay, was specified for its ability to provide a reliable secondary barrier to water ingress while helping control condensation within the roof structure. This made it an ideal choice for a refurbishment project where both immediate protection and long-term roof performance were key priorities. Permavent APEX offered the versatility needed to meet these varying requirements while maintaining a consistent specification throughout the project.

Permavent Tray was also utilised to support robust detailing at the roof edge, helping ensure effective drainage and protection at one of the roof’s most critical areas. Together, the products delivered a dependable and practical roofing solution for a complex phased refurbishment. Permavent is proud to support projects helping upgrade and protect residential communities.
