Envirotect: A technologically advanced, high performance wall membrane range made for modern construction.

Permavent Envirotect membranes are a range of the most technologically advanced vapour permeable, air & vapour control layers (AVCL) and airtight vapour open floor cassettes, walling and construction membranes designed to enhance the thermal performance and physical performance of many wall and construction types. The Envirotect range also features a range of high tack sealing tapes safeguarding a high level of airtightness.

Envirotect vapour permeable membranes, AVCL layers and high tack sealing tapes are available with a high purity aluminium reflective outer surface. This technology has been tested and certified to have a substantial improvement on the thermal performance of the building when facing a cavity of >20mm. The range is suitable for use in all types of construction methods in both domestic and commercial projects.

Envirotect XT 150 Reflect

Envirotect XT 150 Reflect is a spunbond non-woven polypropylene with a high purity aluminium surface (0.79 R Value) is designed and developed for use in timberframe, light steel gauge, modular building and leisure building applications. Envirotect XT 150 Reflect delivers first line protection to the external of the building during construction against driving rain, and wind-blown snow providing ultimate protection to the exterior of the building. The high-water vapour permeability provided from Envirotect XT 150 Reflect ensures water vapour can pass through the structure safely into a cavity. The ultra-low emissivity surface enhances the thermal performance of the airspace significantly improving the overall thermal performance of the wall construction when facing a still air cavity.

Envirotect XT 150 is a spunbond non-woven polypropylene construction membrane. It has been designed and developed for use in timberframe, light steel gauge, modular building and leisure building applications. Envirotect AVCL 150 Reflect is a spunbond non-woven, polypropylene construction membrane with a high purity aluminium surface (0.79 R Value). Envirotect AVCL 150 Reflect is designed and developed for use in timberframe, light steel gauge, modular, and leisure building applications. Envirotect AVCL 150 Reflect delivers a robust approach to airtightness; enhancing the overall thermal performance of the building structure. This significantly reduces the risk of interstitial condensation in accordance with BS520:2021 Management of Moisture in Buildings.

Envirotect Floor Cassette Membrane (FZT)

Envirotect FZT is a vapour open, airtight floor protection membrane designed to maintain airtightness between ground floor and first floor intermediate floor zones. Envirotect FPZ is vapour open diminishing the risk of interstitial condensation whilst providing superior levels of airtightness at the essential junctions between floor and wall. Envirotect AVB50

Envirotect AVB50 is a spunbond non-woven, polypropylene construction membrane with a unique air and vapour PP coating. Envirotect AVB50 is designed and developed for use in timberframe, light steel gauge, modular, and leisure building applications. Envirotect AVB50 delivers a robust approach to airtightness where the internal wall meets the external wall providing a continuous barrier throughout the building. Envirotect AVB50 also significantly reduces the risk of interstitial condensation in accordance with BS520:2021 Management of Moisture in Buildings.

Permavent High Tack Sealing Tape

Permavent High Tack Sealing Tape has been specifically designed by our team of experts to provide the strongest of seals when secured against a membrane lap or detailing such as window and/or door openings, Permavent High Tack Sealing Tape can also be used to repair minor rips and tears in the Envirotect membrane on application. Please contact a member of the Permavent technical team should you need guidance on suitability to repair or replace any installation damage.

Approved Document Part L

 

Significant changes to building regulations were introduced on the 15th June 2022. These changes were introduced to detail the improvement in systems and standards that are now a requirement for all future constructions to increase building energy efficiency. They also apply to existing buildings requiring future remedial work and apply to both domestic and non-domestic projects.

The amendments to Approved Document Part L provide updated guidance to cavity wall build ups, more specifically increasing insulation requirements. There are now higher performance targets where CO2 emissions need to be reduced by 31% in dwellings and 27% in other buildings. The changes will help to reduce the carbon footprint of new and existing developments in the UK, by increasing the thermal performance, thus reducing energy consumption.

Adopting a fabric first approach, Envirotect exceeds the requirements of this updated guidance. The Envirotect range has been tested, certified and future-proofed for any further changes to building control guidance.

Installation and Approved Application Guidance

Contractors choose Envirotect because of its impressive performance when compared in real terms against other products on the market. It also offers impressive simplicity when being installed. Envirotect is available in a range of sizes offering installers convenience and choice when safely installing a membrane on site. The rolls have equally been designed with prefabrication in mind, and at up to 2.7m wide are designed to fit most standard modular constructions; minimising product waste and increasing profit margins.
